If you wish to register a company in Malaysia, you must choose a unique name for your proposed company. Malaysia company name search is available on the SSM E-info website.

There are more than ONE million companies registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia. Therefore, before registering a company in Malaysia, you must choose such a name for your company which should “Unique”. Don’t use common names for your new company incorporation.

Let’s suppose, you want to register a company with a string “Gold….” you must understand, the word “Gold” is a very common word. So there may be many companies already registered with Companies Commission of Malaysia with the string “Gold”.

You can choose your proposed company name with the first few letters of the names of the Director.

Furthermore, to search for any company registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, you can create a FREE account on the Companies Commission of Malaysia E-info website.

To create a free account with the Companies Commission of Malaysia E-info website:

1.   Visit  http://www.ssm-einfo.my

2.   Click on the icon stating “Register as e-Account Member”

3.   Fill in the “Registration Form“, then submit

4.   You will receive a message “Please login now”

5.   Login with your user name & password

6.   Once successful login, click on the icon “Search”

7.   Enter your desired company name in the box “By Name”

8.   The Name search result from the Companies Commission of Malaysia will be displayed.

Tip;

While searching for a proposed name, just enter the first few letters of the company name. Don’t enter a FULL company name to get the broader Results.

Form 13A ( Request for Company name Approval)

To register your proposed company name with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, we will be submitting Form 13A to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). The Companies Commission of Malaysia gives a response to Form 13A on the same day of submission, if submitted before 12:00 pm

SSM may require the justification/reason to chose a specific name. So, while proposing any name of your company, please provide the justification of the proposed name as well
